The Rise of Agentic Quant Research

The quantitative research landscape is undergoing a tectonic shift. For decades, the process of finding alpha has been a manual, labor-intensive endeavor.

Quants would spend months cleaning data, engineering features, and backtesting hypotheses. With AlphaSwarm, we are moving towards an Agentic Research model.

What is Agentic Research?

Agentic research involves using autonomous AI agents to perform the heavy lifting of the research cycle:

  • Information Synthesis: Agents use RAG to read thousands of academic papers and news articles.
  • Hypothesis Generation: Using LLMs to propose new features or strategy mutations.
  • Automated Validation: Spinning up backtests and RL training runs to verify ideas.

By orchestrating these steps into a unified workflow, AlphaSwarm allows teams to explore a significantly larger hypothesis space than was ever possible before.
